apple-pecan squares (or whatever shape you want to cut them into)

It's been a long, long while. And for that, I apologize. But here you go.... These bad boys are AMAZING substitutes for brownies. I didn't say they were better for you, but they're a nice variation on the idea of a tasty dessert bar. Serve 'em with some vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel... yeah... that sounds good... The Ingredients- -2 c flour -2 tsp baking powder -1/2 tsp salt -2 tsp cinnamon -2 tsp pumpkin pie spice -1/2 c melted butter -1/2 c white sugar -3/4 c brown sugar -1/2 c apple cider -2 eggs -2 tsp vanilla extract -2 granny smith apples cored, peeld and diced -1/2 c chopped pecans The Rundown- -preheat oven to 350F -grease 13x9 baking pan -melt butter, set aside -sift together dry ingredients, set aside -mix together melted butter, both sugars, vanilla extract and eggs -combine sugar mixture and flour mixture (batter WILL be thick and lumpy, deal with it) -fold in apples and pecans -spread into prepared pan, bake 30-35 min -cool completely, cut into whatever shapes you want (or go at it with a fork and tell everyone else to go fuck themselves)
